Worcestershire’s CBT Service is led by Ian Simpson, accredited with the BABCP as a CBT therapist.
Ian has 17 years post registration experience working in NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) around the country, including posts in Leeds, Birmingham and most recently in Worcester.
Ian also helped develop a CAMH Service in a rural part of Western Australia during a yearlong secondment in 2003.
Ian has held both therapeutic and managerial posts in the NHS.
He studied a CBT qualification at King’s College London in 2006 and since then has consolidated his CBT practice within NHS settings and more recently in the private sector.
Ian has successfully developed his private clinic in Worcestershire since 2010.
He currently works with different providers across the country supplying CBT interventions to IAPT projects, including Rotherham and more recently Nottingham.
Ian sees a wide range of referred clients of all ages and specialises in the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders in children, young people and their families.
Ian also has extensive experience in working with clients who are suffering from a range of anxiety disorders (including panic disorder, health anxiety, OCD, trauma, social phobia, generalised anxiety, body dysmorphic disorder), depressive illness, stress, anger, and low self-esteem.
Ian also has extensive experience working with young people and adults on the Autism Spectrum.
Ian sees client engagement as crucial to his practice.
Being part of CAMHS teams has enabled him to be part of Systemic Family Therapy Teams.
